My Top Tips for Beating the Blues!

Monday 15th January was supposedly the "most depressing day of the year". There's even a mathematical equation that proves it! Dr Arnall deduced that:

– [W + (D-d)] x Tq ÷ [M x Na]. W represents weather, D means debt, d equals monthly income, T is the time since Christmas and q is the time period since we’ve broken our New Year’s Resolutions. M stands for motivational levels, and Na is the feeling of needing to take action

Soo basically it's no longer the Christmas holidays, we're either back at work or in school, for most of us it's cold outside and our motivational levels are at an all time low.

But what Dr Arnall didn't consider is that we all have the incredible ability to shift our emotions very quickly. Ever seen how a baby can go from crying like the world is coming to an end, to laughing and giggling in just a few seconds? Well, actually we all have that ability. Have you ever started laughing whilst mid sob?

Check out my little vlog to hear some of the top ways that I shift any stagnant energy within me.

Something that I didn't mention though is that sometimes we actually have to dive head first into our emotions. Rather than trying to shift them, it can also be healthy for some people to fully experience their emotions and totally indulge in them for a day. Put your sweats on, get that tub of ice cream from the freezer, pop Bridget Jones on and curl up in a ball on the sofa. BUT, do this, knowing that you're going to fully experience them for a specific amount of time. Then decide that when you wake up in the morning it will be a new and bright day. You will choose to put your best energy forward and shake it all off.

What are some of your most effective ways to shift your blues? Would love to hear from you! Comment below!

Sending you love and light,
